Good, Better, Best

In this busy stage of my life my mind keeps coming back to a talk given a few years ago by Dallin H. Oaks titled Good, Better, Best.

A few favorite quotes are:

Consider how we use our time in the choices we make in viewing television, playing video games, surfing the Internet, or reading books or magazines. Of course it is good to view wholesome entertainment or to obtain interesting information. But not everything of that sort is worth the portion of our life we give to obtain it. Some things are better, and others are best.

We have to forego some good things in order to choose others that are better or best because they develop faith in the Lord Jesus Christ and strengthen our families.
So friends, I am trying to be better in establishing and doing the best things in my life and for my little family. At times I must put the good or better things in my life aside and focus on the best, which is them!

The talk is a quick but powerful read that I feel all busy people, parents and mothers can learn from.

If you have 5 minutes take the time and read this talk. You'll be glad you did!

  2. So true! I love that talk...a good reminder that not always are things "bad", it just means that there are more worthwhile things we could be doing instead.
