Edible Paints

Playing with your food is always fun.  Learning while playing with your food is even better.

This past week we did some painting (brush and finger) using berries and pudding. My kids loved squishing the berries and smooshing the pudding around in their fingers.

Just mash up some berries and use brushes (to avoid stained fingers) to paint on paper. We used blueberries because it was what we had on hand, but it didn't produce much color. Strawberries or blackberries should be more colorful. You could also add food coloring (we did).

Make up some instant pudding and smooth it out on a clean surface (table cloth or wax paper). Use your fingers to draw pictures or play tic-tac-toe. I also have my 2 & 4 year olds practice writing their letters, numbers, and names in it.

Be sure to lick the pudding off your fingers frequently.
That's what makes it the most fun right?!
